The Suzuki 2009-2010 Equator has come under fire recently due to a faulty Global Positioning System (GPS). In total, 20,692 of the mid-sized pickups are being recalled, in particular, trucks with a Garmin Nuvi 750, Nuvi 760 or Nuvi 765 portable navigator.

The problem lies in the portable GPS unit’s energy source. The battery in the unit could overheat and possibly lead to a fire. Suzuki began notifying owners of the Equator equipped with one of these navigation systems in mid-September. A Garmin representative will remove the Nuvi GPS unit’s faulty old battery and put a spacer on top of the new replacement battery to fix the safety hazard.
